There are 8 infrared versions available now :

Each version has its own characteristics and positive & negative values.

full infrared

Full IR, original

Full IR, processed

Full infrared is the standard infrared version, just as if you use Hoya R72 filter. In fact, the full  infrared filters use in this version is not Hoya R72. It’s a custom glass filters with the same cut off of around 720nm. The sky will be brown, and leaves change to white or light grey.

Positive :

This version can be post processed to an unlimited tone and color creations. Unique and true infrared style. It’s good for landscape photography.

Negative :

Full IR needs a bit higher post processing skill in Photoshop.

visible infrared

Visible infrared is the simplest infrared version. We don’t have to post process it. Image just like a normal picture taken with normal digital cameras, except leaves will be yellow. Skin tone also close to normal one.

Positive :

No post processing needed. Instant natural infrared look. It’s good for people shots.

Negative :

It’s just like a normal picture. If there is no tree or leaves, no infrared style in the picture.

semi infrared

Semi infrared is similar to Full IR, but has a lower cutoff. The colors looks like a full IR, except the leaves will be a bit blue. We have to channel swap it, and the result will close to visible IR. But if we do an intens post processing in Photoshop, there are many creations available.

Positive :

This version is between Full IR and Visible IR. You have options to create an infrared images with different styles.  It’s good for landscape photography.

Negative :

Semi  IR needs a normal post processing skill in Photoshop.

goldie infrared

Goldie IR, original

Goldie IR, processed

Goldie IR is similar to Semi IR, but it’s easier to post process. Sky will be brown / orange, and l eaves will be cyan. With normal channel swap, we get a brilliant blue sky and yellow leaves.

Positive :

This version is very easy to post process.  It’s good for landscape photography and people photography.

Negative :

Contrast is lower than a higher cutoff filters like Full Infrared, or even BW Infrared.

bw infrared

BW IR or Black & White Infrared is the highest contrast available now in Myinfrared & Cinfrared versions. Pictures will be in black & white colors straight from the camera.

Positive :

It’s good for black & white photography lovers. High contrast BW pictures.

Negative :

Pictures only in greyscale colors. Difficult to process it as colorful infrared.

prewed infrared

Prewed IR, processed

Prewed infrared is a variant of infrared version. We don’t have to post process it. Image just like a normal picture taken with normal digital cameras, except leaves will be yellow / orange. Skin tone almost normal.

Positive :

No post processing needed. Instant natural infrared look. It’s good for people shots.

Negative :

It’s just like a normal picture. If there is no tree or leaves, no infrared style in the picture.

fantasy infrared

Fantasy IR is easy to post process using selective colors.  Colorful and unique, and can be processed with or without channel swap. It’s ideal for fashion & landscape photography.

Positive :

This version is very easy to post process.  It’s good for landscape photography and fashion photography. Colorful.

Negative :

Contrast is lower than a higher cutoff filters like Full Infrared, or even BW Infrared.

travel infrared

Travel IR is a straight from the camera version from MyINFRARED. It’s easy to use infrared version.  Colorful and unique, and no digital process. It’s ideal for traveling photography.

Positive :

No digital process.  It’s good for travel photography and fast prewedding photography. Colorful.

Negative :

Not so many styles. 2 stop extra exposure compensation.

avatar infrared

Avatar IR is the newest version from MyINFRARED. It’s easy to use infrared version.  Colorful and unique, and no digital process. Skintone is normal. It’s ideal for fashion photography, especially in low light, indoor or in a studio.

Positive :

No digital process.  Skintone is normal. Dynamic range is very good in low light, indoor or studio. It’s good for fashion photography. Unique colors.

Negative :

-1 to -2 stop exposure compensation.
